Hotel Napsugár Hévíz

Hévíz

Hévíz is located in Zala County, at the western end of Lake Balaton, 5 kilometers from Keszthely and 200 kilometers from Budapest. The main attraction of Hévíz is its natural peat bed, biologically active, thermal and medicinal lake, which is also unique in Europe.

In addition, the city of Hévíz can boast of many other special features. Among other things, with the farmers' market evoking the atmosphere of the old days, or with the heritage of the villas built more than 100 years ago, which can be found right next to Tófürdő, and not least with the unique atmosphere of the town, Egregy.

The various cultural events are also authoritative in the life of Hévíz: it welcomes its guests with numerous musical and cultural programs throughout the year, of which the evening concerts and open-air events are the most outstanding.

Lake Hévíz

The Héviz spa is Hungary's oldest and best-known spa, which dates back more than 2,000 years based on memories from Roman times. The 4.6-hectare lake with a spring depth of 38.5 meters is fed by a spring containing sulfur, radium and minerals. It is particularly interesting that the lake's water is completely replaced every 72 hours thanks to its abundant water flow, which is 410 liters per second.

Lake Hévíz welcomes those who want to heal and relax in a special environment in every season, since the temperature of the lake does not drop below 24 degrees even in winter, so it is also suitable for outdoor bathing. Thanks to all this, Hévíz is considered one of the most popular destinations among both domestic and foreign tourists.

Hévíz, the source of life

The unique features of the Hévíz lake, the water lilies covering its surface, and the nearby forest strip with its green environment contribute to a relaxing and energizing experience in addition to physical and mental healing.

Hévíz's slogan, "The source of life" is not accidental, as the sight of the areas dotted with thousands of flowers, swamp cypresses and special bushes around the lake and almost throughout the city promotes mental relaxation and refreshment in itself.

Active rest

Hévíz and its surroundings also offer many opportunities for lovers of active recreation, as it is hard for those who want to go hiking to resist the slopes of the Zala hills or the exceptionally beautiful landscapes of the Keszthely Mountains.

But in addition to all this, it is also possible to participate in Nordic walking, Segway tours, and canoe sightseeing tours. Last but not least: every day between April 1st and October 31st, one of the largest hot air balloons in Europe rises in the Hévíz-Keszthely area, which also offers the participants a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Gastronomy

On the menus of the restaurants in Héviz, every guest can find the dishes that best suit their taste, be it traditional Hungarian flavors or fine dining. Many internationally recognized chefs work in Hévíz's restaurants, who - among other things - impress guests with traditional Zala delicacies, Balaton fish dishes and unique delicacies.

When it comes to the gastronomy of Hévíz, in addition to the restaurants, traditional taverns, pastry shops and cafes, we must also mention the wine cellars of Egregy, as well as the attractive small pubs located here!

Egregy is an imposing part of Hévíz, where cozy illuminated cellars and restaurants await visitors in the evenings. It is no exaggeration to say that Egregy is as important a part of Hévíz from a gastronomic point of view as Tófürdő is from a health point of view. A fun evening spent here, often accompanied by live music, provides unforgettable relaxation for the guests, be it dinner or wine tasting.

White wine is mainly produced in the Egregy wine region, but of course red wine lovers will not be disappointed either! The most popular grape varieties in the area include Olaszriesling, Grübarat, Rieslingssilvani, but you can also find green Veltelini and various Muscats here.

It should be mentioned that the Egregy vineyard was already recognized as a quality wine-producing place in 1998, and the wines produced here were declared wines of the Balaton region.
